What is Cilia Soft?
Cilais Soft tabs is an orally prescribed drug for the treatment of erectile
dysfunction in men. This drug increases the blood flow to the penis to
produce and maintain erection to achieve sexual satisfaction during sexual
activity. It has the same active ingredient as its regular counterpart
but this formula is made to dissolve faster, taking only 15-20 minutes
to get the results. The pill is absorbed in the mouth and directly passes
the bloodstream instead of going to the stomach first. This formula then
gives a faster and more potent effect which can last for 36 hours. In
addition, it can be taken with alcoholic beverages and taking high-fat
meals would not affect absorption time.
How is Cialis Soft taken?
Take the pill exactly as directed by your doctor. The drug is usually
taken 15-30 minutes before engaging in sexual activity. Take note that
taking the pill alone does not produce erection. Erection can be achieved
with sexual stimulation. Refrain from taking Cialis Soft more than once
a day.
Important Information
• Seek medical intervention right away if you suspect an overdose.
Overdose symptoms include: include chest pain, nausea, irregular heartbeat,
and feeling light-headed or fainting.
• Be sure to let your doctor know if you are taking any nitrate
drug for chest pain or heart problems such as nitroglycerin (Nitrostat,
Nitrolingual, Nitro-Dur, Nitro-Bid, Minitran, Deponit, Transderm-Nitro,
others), isosorbide dinitrate (Dilatrate-SR, Isordil, Sorbitrate), and
isosorbide mononitrate (Imdur, ISMO, Monoket); or if you are taking recreational
drugs like amyl nitrate or nitrite. These drugs can interact with Cialis
and cause fatal side effects.
• It has not yet been established whether Cialis causes vision loss.
Cases have been reported of this condition in patients using Cialis especially
those with heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol,
or certain pre-existing eye problems, and in those who smoke or are over
50 years old.
• Be sure that you inform your doctor if you have any of the following
conditions, before you take Cialis:
o heart disease or heart rhythm problems;
o a recent history a heart attack (within the past 90 days);
o a recent history of stroke or congestive heart failure (within the past
6 months);
o angina (chest pain);
o high or low blood pressure;
o liver disease;
o kidney disease (or if you are on dialysis);
o a blood cell disorder such as sickle cell anemia, multiple myeloma,
or leukemia;
o a bleeding disorder such as hemophilia;
o a stomach ulcer;
o retinitis pigmentosa (an inherited condition of the eye);
o a physical deformity of the penis (such as Peyronie’s disease);
or
• Refrain from engaging in sexual activity if it poses a danger
to your health.
• Cialis is not recommended to be used by women, though it is not
expected to have any harmful effect on an unborn baby.
• This medication is not also recommended for breast-feeding women.
Do not use this medication without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding
a baby.
• You may need a lower dose of this medication if you are older
than 65. Follow your doctor’s instructions.
• If you experience dizziness, nausea or angina (chest pain, numbness
and tingling in the chest, arms, neck or jaw) while engaging in sexual
activity, stop the sexual activity and consult your doctor.
• Discontinue using Cialis and get emergency medical help if you
have sudden vision loss.
• Ask for immediate medical attention if you have any signs of allergic
reaction such as: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face,
lips, tongue, or throat.
• Stop the use of this drug and call your doctor at once if you
have any of these serious side effects:
o chest pain or heavy feeling, pain spreading to the arm or shoulder,
nausea, sweating, general ill feeling;
o irregular heartbeat;
o swelling in your hands, ankles, or feet;
o shortness of breath;
o vision changes;
o feeling light-headed, fainting; or
o penis erection that is painful or lasts 4 hours or longer.
• You can go on taking Cialis if you have any of these less serious
side effects:
o warmth or redness in your face, neck, or chest;
o stuffy nose;
o headache;
o upset stomach; or
o back pain
Consult your doctor immediately if these symptoms persist or become worse.
• Some medication can react with Cialis. Avoid taking this medication
along with drugs that contain nitroglycerin or nitroglycerin-type drugs.
The following drugs listed may also cause a drug reaction with Cialis:
• alpha blockers.
• bosentan
• certain antibiotics such as clarithromycin, erythromycin, troleandomycin
• certain drugs used for seizures such as carbamazepine, phenytoin,
and phenobarbital
• cimetidine
• cisapride
• diltiazem
• grapefruit juice
• medicines for fungal infections (fluconazole, itraconazole, ketoconazole,
voriconazole)
• mibefradil
• nicardipine
• certain medicines for the treatment of HIV infection or AIDS
• quinidine
• rifabutin, rifampin or rifapentine
• some drugs for treating depression, anxiety or other mood problems
(examples: fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, nefazodone)
• verapamil
