What is Tadalis?
Tadalis is an oral medication given only to males with ED. It belongs
to a drug group called phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors. This drug
works by allowing increased blood flow to the penile organ, and combined
with sexual stimulation, improve erection.
Tadalis comes in light-yellow film-coated tablets and are available in
blister packs of two.
How is Tadalis taken?
Take this medication as exactly directed by your doctor. Ask your doctor
if any of the instructions are not clear to you. The starting dose is
usually 10 mg, taken before sexual activity. Your doctor can always increase
your dose if the effect is weak. Swallow the tablet whole, then drink
a glass of water. Tadalafil can be taken with or without food.
The medication can be taken at any given time from 30-12 hours prior sexual
activity. Its effects can last up to 24 hours. Remember that Tadalis doesn’t
cause erection alone. It will not work without sexual stimulation.
Do not take this medication more than once a day. It can lead to fatal
side effects. Seek medical help at once when you suspect an overdose.
Side Effects
Side effects of Tadalis are usually mild to moderate. Common effects include
headache and indigestion. Less common effects include back pain, muscle
aches, nasal congestion, facial flushing and pain, muscle aches, nasal
congestion, facial flushing and dizziness. Uncommon side effects of this
drug are swelling of the eyelids, eye pain and red eyes.
Allergic reactions like skin rashes may also likely occur. If any of these
side effects become worse or persist for long periods, consult your doctor
immediately. Prolonged erection is rare in patients taking Tadalis. Seek
emergency treatment at once if you experience prolonged erection for more
than 4 hours.
Heart attack, stroke and irregular heartbeat are some conditions that
have been rarely reported in men taking this drug. It is still not known
whether these conditions when coupled with the use of Tadalis contribute
to the side effects.
Effects of infertility in test animals may not likely to occur in humans.
Warnings and Precautions
• This drug is only to be sold on retail with the prescription of
a medical health professional.
• Before taking Tadalis, let your doctor know if you are taking
any medication that has nitrate content or nitric oxide. The effects of
this drug group intensify with the use of Tadalis. If you are not certain
whether it contains nitrates, consult your doctor first.
• Be sure to mention to your doctor if
• you have serious heart disease or have had a recent heart attack.
• you have had a recent stroke.
• you have low blood pressure or uncontrolled high blood pressure.
• you are (hypersensitive) allergic to tadalafil or other ingredients
of Tadalis.
• Sexual activity can pose health risk to patients with heart disease
as it adds strain to the heart. Talk to your doctor first if you have
these conditions.
• Tadalis may not be recommended if:
• You have sickle cell anemia (an abnormality of red blood cells),
myeloma
(cancer of the bone marrow), leukaemia (cancer of the blood cells) or
any deformation of your penis.
• You have a serious liver or kidney problem.
• It is important to tell your doctor if you are taking any or have
taken any other medications, vitamins, supplements and herbal products
before you use Tadalis. Do not take any medication without the prior knowledge
of your doctor.
• Never use Tadalis alongside any other ED medications.
• Tadalis is not intended for use by women or by children under
the age of 18.
• Dizziness is one of the common side effects of Tadalis. Avoid
activities that require you to be alert until you know the effect of the
drug on you.
• Do not take Tadalis if you have galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase
deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Lactose is one of the ingredients
of Tadalis.
